Schedules and starts an unattended backup jobs using Microsoft Window 98, 98SE and Intl version's included Backup and Scheduled Tasks utilities. Requires MS Windows 98, 98SE or Intl version. Also schedule reminders to take backup media offsite. The importance of quality backups of your valuable data is often not appreciated until it is too late. Backing up data to fixed disk, removable disk or tape takes a long time and is best done when no users are on the system...at night for instance. The Microsoft Window 98's included Backup utility offers extensive capability for protecting your data. The software recognizes many types of media and offers many options for the source and destination of the backup files. The Microsoft Window 98's included Scheduled Tasks utility is also very powerful and efficient. The software allows you to schedule different types of programs to run at different times, including late at night and early in the morning. But the two programs do not work together. You can use the Scheduled Task utility to open the backup program at the desire time, but you can not specify which backup job to run and you can not start the actual backup process without pushing the "start" button. Backup Scheduler 98 schedules existing Backup Sets created in the Microsoft Backup utility. It can also schedule on-screen reminders for off-site storage and related items. Choose the Backup Set or Reminders from the list above and click the Schedule... button to schedule the item. To adjust the schedule of the item, open the Scheduled Tasks utility from the Start menu or by clicking the Open Scheduled Tasks button.
