How to Setup a Press Archive
Press releases often contain great information
that highlights an applications benefits, highlights,
and history. It is important that these news announcements
be preserved. Not only do press releases detail
a products history, progression, and product stability,
but it is also great content for the search engines.
Software companies should create a press archive
on their website.
What should be included in a press archive?
Press Releases
Include press releases for a specific product
or product line, listed by date and title. Links
to the full release should also be included.
Press Graphics
The media will often want to include images with
a story. Make the lives of editors easier by providing
them high-quality graphics of various shapes and
sizes.
Press Clippings
When the media picks up a story or reviews an
application, include it in a press clippings section.
This will show customers how worthy your application
is.
Permissions
Include a section specifically for the press,
that details necessary permissions for media outlets
to include an application on a CD Cover. Magazines
will often include trial versions of software
on a free CD that is distributed with magazines.
Provide blanket permissions that will allow them
to include your application.
PAD Files
Include a list of your software PAD files.
Additional items can be included in a press archive.
