used to split a large file into smaller pieces. It can either create
segments of a user-specified size, or can be told to automatically split
a file over multiple diskettes (in this usage, the program copies as
much of the file as possible onto as many diskettes as needed).
Instructions are given on how to re-join the file. This File Splitter
can be used, for example, to split a large file into smaller pieces for
easier file transfers, or to transfer a very large file between two
computers using only a diskette.
