didn't. QuickView is way too slow, balks at formats it doesn't know,
and truncates text at the first binary data. FilePeek will view the
text in any file, no matter what kind of file it is, and very quickly.
FilePeek converts non-displayable characters to a dot ( . ) and
therefore, doesn't allow binary characters to truncate its view. It is
a 'view only' program, so you don't have to worry about accidentally
modifying files you're viewing with it.

FilePeek also has a hex view mode, if you need to see what those non-
displayable characters are. You can search for text, and select and
copy text to the clipboard. FilePeek's setup program lets you install
the program in the directory of your choice, and adds a shortcut on your
Start Menu, but the easiest way to open a file with FilePeek is to right
click the file from Windows Explorer, and choose FilePeek on the context
menu which pops up. FilePeek lets you choose separate fonts for its
Text and Hex view modes. You can run more than one instance of FilePeek
if you need to compare files, and use the window positioning commands to
quickly view the files side by side or one over the other.

FilePeek's window can be resized, and its position can be saved if you
want it to open in the same position every time you run it. FilePeek's
text view has word wrap, so all characters are visible, no matter what
the window size. The hex view displays in each line: the line hex
address, then 16 bytes of hex view, then the same 16 bytes in text.
