Description by publisher
Search for one or more strings or regular expressions (regexes) in text or binary files, or entire directory trees. User enters regexes from keyboard or in file.
GREP optionally shows context lines before and after the actual matches. Other options: whole word only, case-blind match; UNIX-style or traditional output; show matching lines or just count of matches or just names of files containing matches.
Text files can be read as lines or paragraphs; binary files can be read in free format or in fixed-length records.
16-bit version works with bare DOS or Windows 3.x; 32-bit handles long filenames and language character sets and works in a DOS window under any later Windows.
An interactive tour of the program is included. A Quick Reference Card (Microsoft Word file) can print on A4 or US Letter paper.
