Digital Rights Management (DRM):
DRM can be applied to your software product to
permit licensing for fair use. Without DRM, your
product is often distributed freely to other friends,
family, classmates and strangers to use without
paying you for a license.
Many software writers embed their own DRM within
the product - which limits you from other business
models (i.e. subscriptions, installment payments,
try before you buy, OEM, and volume licensing).
DRM can be applied to your software after you
write it with "wrapper" technologies which surround
your EXE with a licensing layer.
One such software of this type is Armadillo
(SoftwarePassport). Others are EXECryptor
and Oreans.
These technologies permit you to apply a "wrapper"
around your software to enable other business
models and monetize your software by users.
