will benefit from active software organization
participation.

Organization members typically have a common interest.
Active participation in a software organization
is a great way to network. Sometimes these relationships
can be the beginning of great strategic partnerships.
2. Experience
Developers can learn from the experience (both
positive and negative) of other developers. Sharing
experiences will often help everyone.
3. Develop Contacts
Long term industry participation results in a
network of resources for developers to draw upon,
should their situation change.
4. Industry News
Typically industry organizations do a good job
of filtering and providing important industry
news in a timely fashion.
5. Discounts
Many member organizations offer member discounts
on tools that are often used by developers.
6. Resource Access
Many software organizations provide educational
resources that are only accessible to their membership.
The bottom line is that there are a number of
benefits to participating in a software organization
or association. Ultimately though most developers
will tell you that you get out what you put in.
In other words, joining is not enough. You must
actively engage in events and participate in discussions
to benefit from association membership.
