What is a Post Mortem Analysis?

A post mortem analysis is done at the conclusion or completion of an event or campaign. Post mortems are used to take stock at the end of a project. The analysis is used to develop a list of lessons learned. A common focus of a post mortem analysis generally includes an assessment of what would be done differently if an activity were to be repeated. The idea is to learn from mistakes, and look at areas where improvements could be made.
