I am contemplating setting up a reseller program, but I am concerned that resellers will cut into my regular sales. How much of my direct sales can I expect to lose if I start selling through resellers?

The answer of course is hopefully you will not lose any sales. Most software developers will tell you that rarely do they see a change in end-user sales when they implement a reseller program. In fact if anything their sales increase with the growth of their brand.

Developers use resellers to expand their reach and tap new markets. Most resellers provide some sort of value-ad. In most cases their audience is one that you are not yet reaching, so they should not impact your current direct sales.
